101 in 1001: Take 2

101 in 1001, Take 2: Final Check-In!

October 8, 2020

Can you believe it’s the final day of my second 101 in 1001 list?! I sure can’t!

For those who aren’t familiar, it’s a list of 101 things I’d like to accomplish in 1001 days, or roughly 2.75 years. I started my first 101 in 1001 list back in 2015, and while I fell off the wagon for a bit, I started a new list as soon as the first one ended back in January of 2018.

I wrote the second list while on my honeymoon on a boat off the coast of New Zealand, and I honestly had no idea that this is what life would be like 2.75 years later.

101 in 1001, Take 2: Check-In #8

June 29, 2020

It’s time for the penultimate check-in on my 101 in 1001: Take 2 list! In just about 100 more days, I’ll wrap up this list and launch a new one. 😱 Crazy how time flies!

If you’re not familiar, 101 in 1001 is a list of 101 things I’d like to do in the next 1001 days (or approximately 2.75 years). I’m currently working on my second 101 in 1001, which started in January of 2018 and will wrap up this coming October.

Now that we’re 90% of the way through, I’ve decided not to change any more of my goals. Normally I allow for changes, especially when I have big life changes like moving from Cincinnati to Kalamazoo. But with a pandemic going on, it feels like cheating, because I’d probably change 30% of my list to things I could do in the next 100 days. Instead, I’ve started working on my third 101 in 1001 list, so all of my new ideas are going into that! Plus, I’ll carry over whatever I don’t finish.

Speaking of finishing items, here’s what I’ve completed since my last check-in!

Our First Experience Brewing Beer!

May 20, 2020

Living in West Michigan, it’s hard to not be a beer person. My hometown, Grand Rapids, has been named Beer City USA, and my current town, Kalamazoo, is home to Bell’s Brewery, which makes the Best Beer in America.

So it was only a matter of time until Sean and I started brewing our own, right?

I put it on my 101 in 1001 list back in 2018, but it took a pandemic for us to finally prioritize it.

What a weird time to be thinking about goal setting, am I right? With everything that’s been happening around the world with COVID-19, all plans are up in the air.

BUT my 101 in 1001 list makes me so happy, and we’re now 80% of the way through, so I’m taking this break from all things pandemic to check on my progress.

It’s time for another check in on my second 101 in 1001 list! I’m now just over 60% of the way through my list, which means I should have 60 items done, which… isn’t the case. But that’s okay! I’m still making slow but steady progress.

101 in 1001, Take 2: Check-In #4

I’m now past the halfway mark with my 101 in 1001: Take 2 list! Eep!

It’s been just over 500 days since I started my list, which means I should have 50 or 51 items done. And I’m pretty close with 49! Let’s check in with everything I’ve accomplished since the last check-in.

Now that Memorial Day is behind us, it’s time for summer reading! I’m a big fan of reading year-round, but there’s something special about picking up a book during the warm summer months.

I’ve gotten a head start on my summer reading list already, but here are the books I’m excited to dive into over the next few weeks!

101 in 1001, Take 2: Check-In #3

I’m excited to share another update on my second 101 in 1001 list! I’m now 40% of the way through my time, which is crazy! Normally I’d be doing check-in #4 now, so I would be doing one check-in per 100 days, but the third check-in happened during my hiatus, so I skipped it.

The good news is, I’m right on track with 42 items completed out of 101! Let’s take a gander at all of the updates since my last check-in.

Creating a Home Book with All of Your Essentials

Creating a Home Book with All of Your Essentials

One of the arguably most important parts of my 101 in 1001 list was to make a home book that includes all of the important information anyone would need if something happened to me or my husband.

Because it was so daunting and heavy of a task, I put it off for a while, but I finally finished it last week! As soon as I printed it out, I knew it would be a helpful thing for more people to set up, so I wanted to walk you through exactly how to create one of your own.

Can you believe it? It’s already time for the second check-in of my 101 in 1001: Take 2 list! That means I’m 20% of the way through. And excitingly, I’m once again more than 20% of the way through my list!

If you’re unfamiliar, 101 in 1001 is a list of 101 things you’d like to accomplish in 1,001 days, or about 2.75 years. This is my second attempt at one, hence the “Take 2” portion of the title. In my first iteration, I stopped paying attention to it pretty early on, so I only crossed of 42 items. This time I’m doing check-ins every 100 days or so to hold myself accountable. Here’s where I stand 20% of the way through the list!

I’m just about 10% of the way through my second 101 in 1001 challenge! Based on that, I should have about 10 items complete, and I’m happy to say I’m way ahead of schedule!

I’ve had a lot of fun with this so far, because I was so intentional when I started my list. These are truly things I want to accomplish, instead of things that would just be fun. They help me inform my monthly goals, which I think is why I’ve been so successful with it so far.

Without further ado, here’s where I’ve made progress so far in my 101 in 1001, Take 2!

So I guess that’s my personality now.
