Now that we’re halfway through the month of December (crazy!), it’s time to check in on how I’m doing with my December Goals!
December Goals
- Have more productive weekends. It depends on how you define “productive.” I’ve been doing a lot of relaxing, which is really good, and I’ve been making some stuff for my Etsy shop. But I’ve also felt really lazy and unproductive, so I’m not really sure if I’m doing so well on this one.
Make a plan for an Etsy shop. Getting really close! I’ve got a few items made, some photos have been taken, and I’m really excited about how it’s all coming together.
Do at least one link-up.Done! My December Goals post was part of the #friendswithgoals link up with Mitchael Journey, and this check-in post is, too!Watch less television. Well, I watched all of season four of Parks and Rec in three days. I also worked 8 hours each of those days. Needless to say, I haven’t been doing so well on this goal.
Continue to read more. Also a fail. I tried listening to the audiobook, but it’s such a dense story that I really need to read it rather than listen to it. So far I’ve only got the prologue under my belt. Whoops.
Design and order holiday cards.Done! I’m getting photos printed today that we’ll mail out with the cards, but the cards and envelopes are all set. They’re Game of Thrones themed, which is awesome.
7. Use Rosetta Stone once per week. Haven’t used it once yet.
- Don’t spend money outside of gifts, groceries, rent, etc. I’ve spent quite a bit of money on supplies for my Etsy shop, and I ended up buying a really nice messenger bag and laptop cases from Invisible Children (they were on my fair-trade holiday gift list). So I haven’t been doing so well with this one, but I’ve still got half the month and not much else I need / want to buy.
Not bad for being halfway through the month! I’m not doing so hot on some of them (here’s looking at you, Parks and Rec), but I’ve still got two weeks left to get my act together. Plus I’m in the last season of Parks and Rec, so I won’t have that to distract me for much longer.
I think this looks like you are having a great month! ๐ Good job! ๐ (I need to get going on Parks and Rec AND my etsy shop!) ๐
Let me know when you open your Etsy shop! And Parks and Rec is awesome but addicting, so be warned. ๐
Great job getting those holiday cards done! That’s a project that I seem to put off often!
Thanks! ๐
Oooh you’re going to open an etsy store?!!
Yes I am! I’m really excited / nervous about it! ๐
Try switching some of your TV watching for the audio book. You can always listen while cooking or crafting.
That’s a great idea! Thanks, Angela, I’ll try that! ๐
You can totally do this!! <3
Thanks, Alyssa! ๐
I need to check out Parks & Recreation, everyone says it is so good and I love Rob Lowe!
It’s so good! But it’s really addicting. I’ve watched almost all six seasons in two weeks.
You’ve got this!!! And let me know what you think of Rosetta Stone! I’ve been looking into it ๐
It’s great! It takes a bit of a commitment, but I’ve learned a lot from Rosetta Stone. ๐ I also recommend Duolingo if you want a free version.
You can do this but Parks and rec sucks you in. For me right now it’s The Office.
That one is on my list, too! I finished Parks and Rec in a total of three weeks. Netflix is the devil haha
Sounds like you’re crossing things off at a good pace!! You still have half a month to get through too!!
Katie <3
Thanks, Katie! ๐
You are doing good! I am pretty proud of my self for being done with all of my gifts, shopping and shipping ;o)
That’s awesome! And thanks for reading ๐
Im so close to being done with holiday cards! I only have 2 left! Whoot Whoot!!
Woo! Congrats ๐
I definitely count relaxing as productive ๐ How is December half way over!!
Isn’t it crazy?!
For December crossing two things off your list is a success in my book!
I’d have to agree, Laurie! Hopefully I get more done in the next few days, but if not I’m still happy! ๐
I love that you do an update to keep yourself accountable! You are ding great girl!
Thanks, Claire! ๐
You’ve got this, Caitlin! Parks and Rec is addicting ๐ lol — how fun that you’ve been able to work on your Etsy shop! December is such a great crafting month! Way to go on your Christmas cards ๐ I hope the remainder of your month goes fantastic!
Thanks so much, Andrea! Good luck with your goals as well ๐
Relaxing is really important during the hectic holidays I think… plenty of time for being productive in January and February when the world seems to settle down for a bit!
Agreed! I’m definitely looking forward to January and February so I can get more done, but for now I love relaxing. ๐
Netflix and Hulu have ruined my productivity. Whenever I finish a show it suggests another one to me, and there I am elbows deep in tv when I meant to be running, writing, cleaning, etc. hahaha.
Exactly! I know they do it on purpose so you’re always watching something, but I wish I could turn it off. ๐ The auto-start of the next show is what does me in. Oh, you mean I can sit here and not do anything and you’ll play the next episode for me? Okay, thanks Netflix!
Netflix is the devil! LOL I end up watching a whole season of shows in one sitting smh lol as a matter of fact while im typing..hubby is in the bedroom binge watching one of his shows on netflix
I’m the same way! Netflix is a blessing and a curse all in one. ๐
Found you through the linkup! These are great goals! And I think relaxing counts as a productive weekend ๐
Thank you so much! And yes, I’m definitely starting to consider relaxation as productivity. ๐
These are such great goals! Good inspo to carry on into 2015.
These are seriously great goals. I need to start using Rosetta Stone too!
