101 in 1001 #3, Check-In #5

March 28, 2023

I’m now 90% of the way through my third 101 in 1001 list! 😱 If you’ve never heard of it, it’s a list of 101 things to accomplish in 1,001 days, or about 2.75 years. It’s longer than a to do list, more specific and actionable than a new year’s resolution, and shorter than a bucket list.

My current list started in October of 2020 and will wrap up in July of this year. I “should” be at 90 items completed at this point, but I’m not terribly worried about not crossing them all off. Right now I’m at 61 out of 101, which is still super solid!

October 28, 2022

Despite not blogging much for the past year, I’ve been working hard on my 101 in 1001 list, which is a list of 101 things I’d like to accomplish in 1,001 days. This is the third time I’ve done this—the 1,001 days stretch from October 2020 through July 2023, which means we’re now 75% of the way through!

It’s been quite a while since the last check-in, so warning: long post ahead!

Hello hello! I’ve taken most of the summer off from the blog, but I’m excited to be back for a check-in on my 101 in 1001 list! If you’re unfamiliar, it’s a list of 101 things I’d like to accomplish in 1,001 days, or about 2.75 years. This is my third iteration of a 101 in 1001 list! It started on October 9, which means we’re now about 300 days in. Let’s see how I’ve done so far!

I’m officially 10% into my third 101 in 1001 list! If you’re unfamiliar with the idea, it’s a list of 101 things I’d like to accomplish in 1,001 days, or about 2.75 years. I started the first one in 2015 and enjoyed it so much that I’ve started new lists as soon as one ends!

I try to do check-in posts every 100 days, or 10% of the list. Now that we’re 100 days in, let’s see how I’m doing!

The Cookbook I Want to Cook My Way Through

November 10, 2020

When I was putting together my most recent 101 in 1001 list, I knew I wanted a solid section for cooking and food. I’m not the most comfortable in the kitchen, but I want to be.

When brainstorming ideas, I realized a great way to practice would be to cook my way through an entire cookbook.

Classic Cocktails I Want to Learn

October 13, 2020

My most recent 101 in 1001 list started on Friday, and one somewhat ironic theme of the list is entertaining. Don’t get me wrong—Sean and I are 100% not entertaining people right now, since, yunno, global pandemic. But I’m at least a little bit hopeful that there will be a vaccine within the next 1,001 days, so Sean and I will be able to start entertaining again.

I really want to be “the house that everyone goes to” once the world opens up again, so I want to improve my entertaining / hosting skills. One of the most fun skills I want to develop is bartending.

Right now I’ve only got two cocktail recipes at the ready: sour amaretto and Moscow mules. I could stumble my way through a margarita if I needed to, too. But I’d really like to have a bunch of recipes memorized so I could easily make a cocktail for anyone who comes to visit.

October 9, 2020

The day is finally here! I’m so excited to share my next 101 in 1001 list.

For those who aren’t familiar, a 101 in 1001 list is somewhere in between a to do list and a bucket list—it’s 101 things you want to accomplish in 1001 days, or roughly 2.75 years.

I first started 101 in 1001 back in 2015, and I’ve started a new list every time 1001 days is up. That means today is 2,003 days after my first list began, so it’s time for my third list!

So I guess that’s my personality now.
