Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! Here are the scratches for the week.
The week started off with a trip to the vet—Stanley and Val were due for their annual shots and check-ups. Luckily nothing too major came up! Plus, it’s curbside drop off and the office is right across the street from my favorite local bookstore, so I was able to spend some time wandering around. I treated myself to The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, which I’m really excited to crack open!
We also got some exciting deliveries this week! On Wednesday, our new imitation Eames chair showed up, and then I got my first Book of the Month box! I’m really excited for both. 🤗
Then on Friday, I got a new Nintendo Switch Lite (!!) and some Christmas decor for our bedroom fireplace, which you can see above! Definitely feeling grateful this week.
At work, my coworker Katie and I reorganized the webpage that houses all of the resources parents and volunteers need for the Cookie Program, which is really exciting! It will launch tomorrow, and once it does, I’ll be able to cross off one of my work goals for the month: create a promotional toolkit for cookies!
On a less exciting note, yesterday Sean and I made the tough but necessary decision to cancel our trip to Florida to spend Christmas with his family. We were going to drive, but a combination of factors made us uncomfortable with the trip, and we know it will be safer for those who are still planning to attend if we aren’t there. So now we’re prepping for another holiday for just the two of us! I watched Happiest Season last night to try to get in the holiday spirit.
Speaking of, this upcoming week is our last week of work for 2020! My office closes between Christmas and New Years, and I can’t roll over vacation days into the new year, so we’re still going to take two full weeks off even though we’ll be at home. I’m looking forward to some time at home to decompress and relax.
