Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! Here are the scratches for the week.
It was a very productive week at work, part of which is likely because of vacation last week! It’s amazing what time off can do for your mental health, and what better mental health can do for your productivity. 👀
I did take some time off on Tuesday because I wasn’t feeling well, but I’m pretty sure it was just a really bad case of allergies. I’ve been feeling better since then, which I’m very thankful for!
Sean and I made a chore chart while we were on vacation (I swear this has been on our list for months), and we officially started it this week. We try to do 1-2 small things each night of the week, plus 3-4 larger things each weekend day. It’s been so nice. Not only is our house cleaner, but we also feel like we’re taking back our weeknights. With it getting dark so early, it feels like we can’t do anything after work, but the chore chart is proving that we can!
We also restarted a subscription to HelloFresh, which has been really nice. We’re getting 4 meals per week, and the two we’ve tried so far were so good. I’m excited to get more comfortable in the kitchen.
(P.S. if you’ve never tried HelloFresh and you’re curious, you can get $40 off, and I’ll get a $10 credit! Win-win!)
Yesterday I headed to the library for curbside pick-up of a book I ordered: Like the Willow Tree by Lois Lowry, which is part of the Dear America series (#84 on my 101 in 1001 list!) It’s set in 1918 and, you guessed it, centers around a young girl experiencing the 1918 flu. Lowry wrote it in 2011 and it could just as easily be about 2020. It’s a bit painful to read if I’m honest. 😂
Last night I finally worked up the energy to finish decorating the inside of our house for Christmas! I swapped the wreath on our front door from fall to winter, put up ornaments on the tree, and set out a few more figurines on the mantel. I finished it off by hiding the pickle in the tree!
Today has been a lot of around-the-house stuff, finishing up our chore chart tasks and picking up groceries. Now it’s time for a nap! 😂
