Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! Here are the scratches for the week.
Sean and I both had the week off of work, which was so nice. Though I’ll admit, I thought we’d have more energy and be able to get more done this week. It pretty much ended up being a week of rest, which is exactly what we needed.
We got a bunch of local food delivered (hurray for not having to cook!), got our lives a bit more organized by creating a chore chart (finally!), and read a lot.
I finished three books this week, and officially crossed off one of my biggest goals of the year: read 52 books! It seemed so audacious back in December when I set it, and I’m really proud that I officially completed it in November—a month ahead of schedule!
Plus, I made some progress on my 101 in 1001 list. I listened to quite a few episodes of 99% Invisible while cleaning (#5), got a few more items down to $1 CPW in Stylebook (#38), visited two new-to-us places in Kalamazoo (#59), started another Dear America book (#84), got a framed photo of Fauna in Animal Crossing (#88), and watched a few episodes of Golden Girls (#98)!
We were originally going to have my parents drive down for Thanksgiving, but after the recent COVID surge, we didn’t want to risk it, even though we’ve all taken quarantine very seriously. It was a bit of a bummer, but it was also nice to celebrate Thanksgiving as our own little family. We picked up a Thanksgiving meal from one of our local favorites, Kelvin & Co, and set the table for the two of us using our fancy placemats, napkins, and napkin rings as if it were a big dinner party. We loved it.
Now we’re just getting the house ready for another week of work and mentally preparing! Wish us luck!
