Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! I sure wish I was having as relaxing a day as Stanley is. Here are the scratches for the week.
I went to the dentist on Monday. As much as it made me uncomfortable, I knew I’d need to go at least once before this pandemic is over (I had an appointment scheduled for April that I canceled, so I was already down one appointment). They took it very seriously. They called the day before with a health screening, and when you arrived the day of your appointment, they had designated parking spots, and someone came out to your car to check your temperature before you were allowed inside.
All in all, I’m anxious any time I leave the house, but I kept reminding myself that they’re medical professionals, so it’s likely one of the safest places to go.
I’ve been working on a big item on my October goals this week: scraping and repainting the outside trim on two of the kitchen windows. They’re the last two windows we need to repaint on the first floor, and they’re rough. I started on Tuesday, and we really attacked them yesterday. We’ve got a few final things to do today, but we need to at least get primer on before the day is over, because it’s supposed to rain tomorrow. 😅
We also closed on our home refinance on Wednesday! Sean did all the hard work for us, looking up a bunch of mortgage places and interest rates before deciding on the best one for us. We’re saving 25% on our monthly payment, which is so exciting! (Thank you, Sean!)
Other than that, I’ve been working a bunch and playing a lot of Animal Crossing. There was an update for Halloween, so I’m redecorating my entire island with spooky items. Plus I’m almost done replacing the neighbors I don’t like, so it’s been a fun week on Caitland!
Oh, and I unintentionally binge-watched all of the final season of Schitt’s Creek yesterday, which is exactly what I needed.
Our big project for today, other than getting primer on the window trim, is getting our new washing machine! The dryer won’t arrive until tomorrow (apparently appliances are the new toilet paper?), but I’m so excited about them.
