Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! Here are the scratches for the week.
This week has been the encapsulation of “surviving not thriving.” But you know what? Some weeks are like that, and that’s okay. The important thing is, I’m surviving!
As part of my new job that started last week, I’m now salary instead of hourly—meaning there’s no limit on the hours I can work! Which is great sometimes… not so great in weeks like this week, when I had 24 hours of scheduled meetings alone. I know there are plenty of people who have more meetings than me, but when it’s something you’re not used to, it’s quite jarring and exhausting!
(Though I did get to make a s’more in the middle of the work day for an actual work project, so that was cool! The perks of working at Girl Scouts.)
I also ended up working a bit this weekend, though that was really nice because I got to take care of some lingering projects and clean up my inbox a bit!
In non-work-related news, the hardwood floors in our entryway and sunroom were completed on Monday, and we were able to put all of the furniture back on Thursday! They look amazing and we couldn’t be happier with them. Now if we could take a few weeks off from home improvement projects, that would be great…
It’s a good thing we had such a big win, because otherwise both Sean and I have pretty much just been working and sleeping all week. Our house has been a mess, laundry hasn’t been getting done… let’s just say hardly any of my July Goals are currently on track. 😬 But we’re both healthy, so that’s all we can ask for that this point!
We’ve been spending this weekend relaxing, catching up on some cleaning and meal prep, and playing our new video game, Luigi’s Mansion 3. Highly recommend!
