I’m linking this 2014 Year in Review post up with Brooke at Silver Lining.
There’s only a week and a half left in 2014. Crazy, right?
To celebrate the awesome things that 2014 has brought, I’d like to recap some of my favorite posts from the year.
The 2014 Winter Classic
2014 definitely had a cold start. Sean, Aaron, Zach and I all got tickets to the 2014 Winter Classic at the Big House to watch the Detroit Red Wings take on the Toronto Maple Leafs. It was 13 degrees when the game started, with giant fluffy snowflakes making it beautiful but even colder. Plus, this was my first blog post!
DIY: Easy $20 Coffee Bar
I seriously loved this coffee bar. I don’t have room for it in my new apartment, but it was an awesome addition to the old place that freed up a lot of counter and cupboard space.
Book Review: Buy Alexis Jones’ I Am That Girl for yourself and every girl you know
As a proud feminist, I can’t say enough good things about this book. I’m also a member of the global I AM THAT GIRL community, and it’s honestly changed my life.
Mediterranean Cruise Part 2: Dubrovnik, Croatia
I seriously can’t say enough good things about Dubrovnik. We visited a lot of awesome places on our Mediterranean cruise, but Dubrovnik was by far the favorite.
There’s an App for That: Stylebook v. Closet+
This was my first in-depth blog post, and I seriously love it. I compared two closet organization apps, and still love the one I stuck with.
What I Wish I Knew Before Going to Africa
This is another one of my favorite blog posts. It’s honest and vulnerable, and I’m really proud of it.
DIY iMac Cat Bed
Sean and I finally took apart my old iMac and made a cat bed for Val. She loves it.
Hockey Fundamentals: Common Penalties
This blog post was a lot of fun to research and put together. Plus, GIFs!
One Dress October
I wore the same dress almost every work day for the entire month of October, and no one noticed.
How to Be a Feminist: Don’t Underestimate Other Women
I did a lot of learning this year, especially about what it means to be a feminist.
What were your favorite parts of 2014?
I love the coffee bar idea! Since I’m a complete coffee addict, I may have try that!
It’s seriously so easy! Let me know if you try it out 🙂
Looks like you had a great year!! Love that coffee bar, I want something similar in my office…LOL!!
Wouldn’t that be awesome?! I’ve seriously considered getting myself a mini Keurig just for my office…
Oh my goodness! This is an incredible post! I love you you compiled everything together in one post 🙂 Love that Gif! Hahahaha!
Thank you so much! 🙂
I am dying to visit Croatia! I’ll be sure to come to you for tips when I do finally plan a trip there! I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about it!
Please do! And let me know when you end up going so I can travel vicariously through you 🙂
Wow what a GREAT year! Croatia is definitely on my bucket list! Love that last image!
Thank you!! And let me know when you’re able to travel to Croatia! I’d love to hear your thoughts on it 🙂
I want enough room in our next place for a coffee bar! I love that idea.
Right?! My apartment now (I’ve moved since building it) is too small, so I have to use it as a regular bookshelf now. I miss it!
What an amazing year! I’m still bummed I didn’t make it to Croatia when I was studying abroad in London, but it’s at the top of my list. LOVE that cat bed too – soo cute!!
Thanks, Rachel! 🙂
Coffee bar – done! What a great year! So jealous 🙂
Thank you so much, Amanda! 🙂
I can’t wait to sit down and reflect on 2014; it’s been a fabulous year.
Hasn’t it?! I hope 2015 is just as great! 🙂
What an awesome year it’s been for you! (Though there is NO WAY I could survive in 13 degree weather!!) I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog since I discovered it a few months ago, and I can’t wait to see what 2015 holds for you!
Thank you so much! I love your blog, too, Natalie! 2015 will be an exciting year 🙂
I’m gunna have to try those apps! And I love that coffee bar!
Thank you! 🙂
I definitely want to check out those apps! That repurposed iMac cat bed is CRACKING ME UP! And you posted a lot of blogs on here that I loved. 🙂
Thank you so much! 🙂
imac cat bed, I am very curious need to check it out and since africa is my continent i dont want to miss this post. Great review of 2014
Thank you! Let me know what you think of the post 🙂
Awesome posts! I adore your blog and I am so checking out that book! #FeministsUnite
Thank you so much! And let me know what you think of I Am That Girl–it’s one of my favorites! 🙂
Ahh detroit versus Toronto. Who won back then? Funny because I’m not the hugest fan of Toronto Maple Leafs (even though we did live <1 hr away from T.O)….but we're a huge Ottawa Sen's fan. In fact, Alfie (our dog) is named after Daniel Alfredsson lol.
Toronto won, unfortunately. I love that you named your dog Alfie! My cat is named Val, after Valtteri Filppula. He used to play for the Wings but now he plays for the Lightning.
I went to Croatia this year too – turns out it’s possibly my favourite place in the world now (I say that about every place I visit!) I’m definitely going to do a post like this for the new year!
Katie <3
Same! I’m definitely looking to go back at some point. Let me know when you do your post! I’d love to check it out 🙂
What a wonderful recap of your 2014! It’s a mixture of family events, travel, fashion, and DIY! The photos says it all! Have a wonderful and equally adventurous 2015! 🙂
Thank you, Cara! Same to you 🙂
What a great roundup for 2014! I’m jealous that you got to go to the winter classic!
Thank you! It was a lot of fun but VERY cold 🙂
I love the roundup!! I bet it was a blast looking back at all the great things you did over the year!
It definitely was! Thanks for checking it out, Sarah! 🙂
What a great recap of 2014.
Thanks, Karissa!
Love your October outfit!
Thank you! It’s one of my favorites 🙂
Love the coffee bar idea!
This is totally amazing. Croatia! Africa! One day I hope to be a world traveler like you! And thanks so much for linking up 🙂
I honestly keep scrolling back up to the coffee bar and thinking..”why didn’t I think of that..ever?!” lol Genius idea. 😉
What a great 2014 you had! I agree about Croatia – I went to Split, knowing next to nothing about it, and I was blown away. Would love to go back there and visit again!
Looks like you had a great year! Hope 2015 is off to a fantastic start!
