Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

As much as I hate Jonathan Toews, I have to admit, he’s pretty impressive.
Turns out you don’t pronounce the T in Lord Voldemort. My childhood is a lie.
A Hungarian photojournalist is officially the worst person in the world for tripping and kicking refugees fleeing from police.
A Lansing firefighter was killed while fundraising for charity. He was hit by a 22-year-old and died of his injuries in the hospital. The 22-year-old is being charged with murder.
In happier Michigan news, Detroit has (finally) gone through and tested all of its backlogged rape kits. And another $80 million was allocated to testing rape kits in New Work and nationwide.
The ICC has officially withdrawn the arrest warrant for LRA Commander Okot Odhiambo after confirming his death.
And my week? It was spent…

Celebrating a coworker on his last day before retirement.
Finally trying Not Your Father’s Root Beer.
Watching the first two Jurassic Park movies.
