Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! Here are the scratches for the week.
For once in what feels like a great while, I had a good week! I took Thursday and Friday off of work for a long weekend, and it was so nice. Plus, being off for two days helped me learn to delegate my tasks to my teammates—something I need to get better at doing all the time, even when I’m not going to be out of the office.
We had low-key evenings all week, which was really nice. Other than some housework and cooking, we watched plenty of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I also celebrated St. Patrick’s Day by watching The Luck of the Irish. Did you know Disney Channel Original Movies are on Disney+?! I’m having a hard time deciding which to watch next…
I had productive days off of work, starting with a doctor’s appointment on Thursday morning. I had been avoiding going to the doctor during the whole pandemic (I never felt sick, and figured a doctor’s office is a good place to stay away from), but it was nice to cross that off my list.
Sean took Friday off with me, and we took the opportunity to make some progress on our downstairs fireplace! It’s technically a wood burning fireplace, but the flue has some damage in it, so it isn’t safe to use. We’re planning on converting it to gas (#23 on my 101 in 1001 list!) because gas inserts come with their own flue liners, meaning the damage won’t be an issue any more. We swung by the fireplace showroom (the same guys who did our upstairs fireplace) and picked out an insert! We should be able to get the work completed by May or June. 🤗
Oh, and yesterday my birthday gift from Sean arrived! (In his defense, he ordered it more than a month before my birthday.) It’s an ADORABLE custom watercolor painting of Stanley that I love. I can’t wait to get it framed!
Now we’re spending the weekend relaxing! I made two loaves of zucchini bread yesterday (YUM) and did a bit of meal prepping. Now that all the big chores are done, I can spend today reading, cross-stitching, and playing Animal Crossing. 🥰
I hope you have a great Sunday!
