It’s no surprise that the sunroom is one of my favorite rooms in our house. We’ve gone through quite a few iterations in the three years we’ve lived in our house, and the current one really feels… right.
It’s been Sean’s quarantine home office since last May, and we love it as a home office. It just took us a while to find the right configuration for it.
In the last update, the desk was facing the side of our house. It looks really nice, but it left an awkward amount of space on either side. There was too much room to leave it empty, but not enough room for chairs.
We decided to move the desk to the front of the house, which left us plenty of room for chairs on the opposite side! While we were moving around living room furniture, we placed the media console where the desk had been and… fell in love with it.

We originally had two show chairs on the right side and had coffee there in the colder months (when we’re not having coffee on the porch). But then we realized they just… weren’t as lounge-y as we wanted, so we moved those to the living room. Plus, our house was really lacking a nice lounge chair for reading.
Enter: our fake Eames chair! It was an investment, but we’re so happy with it. I can guarantee we’ll have this chair for a really long time.

Now this room really feels like the mid-century home office it was always meant to be.

Things We’d Still Like to Do in the Sunroom:
- Rehab the windows between the sunroom and the porch
- Put up art on either side of the archway
- Swap the end table for something smaller
- Add french doors between the sunroom and the living room
