Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! Here are the scratches for the week.
The worst part about vacation is how fast the days fly by. I feel like I blinked and I’m halfway through my two-week break from work!
Both Sunday and Monday were quiet days at the house; I caught up on laundry, read a bunch, and watched some Christmas movies.
On Tuesday, Sean and I drove up to Grand Rapids for a socially distant Christmas with my parents. They just redid their deck, so we sat outside on lawn chairs in the cold to exchange gifts. It was really nice to see my folks again. Plus, I got to cross an item off my 101 in 1001 list, since they got my wedding dress preserved as one of my gifts!
On Wednesday, after picking up a ready-made Christmas meal from a local restaurant, we started a multi-day virtual game with Sean’s family. We’re playing Choose Your Own Adventure: House of Danger! It’s a long game (it’s 5 chapters, and each chapter takes about an hour to get through), so we’re playing through it over several days. We played the first chapter Wednesday night, and the second and third chapters on Christmas day. We’ll probably finish it up this evening!
We did a virtual gift exchange with Sean’s family on Thursday evening. I got the H for Harry sweater from Harry Potter—but it’s H for Honard! After that we heated up our ready-made Christmas dinner, which was awesome.
On Christmas morning, we had brunch that was also ready-made from a different local restaurant. We had french toast casserole, biscuits and gravy, and fruit. It was all so good.
Other than that, we’ve pretty much just been catching up around the house and reading! I’m planning on setting up my 2021 Passion Planner today (more on that soon!) and will hopefully crank out more of my December goals in the upcoming week.
