Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! Here are the scratches for the week.
This week was pretty much just like every week since mid-March… exhausting. It started out with a trip to Costco on Monday. It was my first visit since the pandemic started, and while the experience itself wasn’t bad, my anxiety got the best of me. Our cart was full by the time we were halfway through the list, and I was pretty much just over it…
That being said, having plenty of essentials (toilet paper, paper towel, allergy meds, pet food, etc.) helps my anxiety a lot, so I’m feeling better now that the trip is behind us.
We’ve also realized that we’re very out of practice when it comes to grocery shopping and meal prepping, so that’s something I want to get back in the habit of this fall.
I’ve also decided that my hobbies for fall and winter are going to be cocktails and fancy popcorn. I made the peanut butter and chocolate popcorn above last night, and while there’s room for improvement, it was rather good!
I did a bunch of reading this week, finishing a whopping 3 books! I finished the Percy Jones and the Olympians series, which means I crossed off one final item off my current 101 in 1001 list (get rid of 25 books I already own), right in the nick of time… it ends on Thursday!
We got our artwork for the entryway! I ordered a photo print from Framebridge on Sunday, and it arrived on Friday! I was very impressed with the speed and the quality. Can’t wait to order more from them!
I also received the N64 version of Animal Crossing… and then learned it’s a super sketchy translation. 😂 Turns out it was never released in English for N64, so people have translated it. It’s not even called Animal Crossing… the translation from the original Japanese name is Animal Forest. That’s what I get for not doing more research! I still plan to play it, but it’s not quite what I expected.
Oh and speaking of not doing enough research, we were cleaning up the basement this week to prepare for our washer and dryer delivery yesterday, when we discovered that our dryer is not electric like we thought… it’s gas. 🤦🏼♀️ So we canceled the delivery and the new, correct machines should be arriving in the next week or two.
I figure if a trip to Costco and a totally fixable incorrect order are my biggest stressors right now, I’m doing okay! But it’s still been absolutely exhausting…
