Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! Here are the scratches for the week.
Overall, this week wasn’t too terrible! I worked 11 hours on Monday on accident (whoops) because one project took way longer than expected, and another had to be done by early Tuesday, so I just stuck it out. Luckily when I told Sean I’d be working late, he stopped on the way home to pick up pizza. 🙌🏻
Because of the extra 3 hours on Monday (I’m an hourly employee and am limited to 40 hours every week), I took long lunches (1.5 hours instead of 1 hour) on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was wonderful. I’m considering making it a regular part of my schedule.
I’m getting close to finishing my ceramics class, so I did a lot of work in Tuesday’s class! I got my taco holders ready to be bisque fired. Hopefully they’re done this week so I can glaze them and pick them up soon!
Sean and I (mostly Sean) are making really good progress on the sunroom ceiling! I sanded it down on Thursday after the first coat of plaster, and then Sean did a few more skim coats and today he’s sanding and priming it. Getting so close!
I found this article about keeping a work diary and decided to give it a try! I was doing my mid-year self-assessment this week and had a hard time remembering what I accomplished last week, let alone over the last 6 months, so I’m hoping this helps. I’m using a combination of both of my Passion Planners for it!
Sean and I got Mario Kart 8 for our Nintendo Switch this week (we literally have a monthly budget for video games and it makes me so happy) so we played that on Friday evening. I’m normally not great at driving games, but I’m glad I have the opportunity to practice! I didn’t do terribly this time around.
We also watched Taylor Tomlinson’s Netflix standup special and the movie Midway, which I borrowed from the library. Taylor’s special was amazing, and Midway was… fine.
Yesterday, we traveled to Grand Rapids to help my mom clean up my grandma’s house a bit. We also got to visit her at the nursing home, which was so nice!
After that we got pizza at Peppino’s with our friends Josh and Ashley, then went to a Grand Rapids Griffins game with my dad and godfather. They won, 3-0!
Today we’re spending the day working around the house. While Sean works on the sunroom ceiling, I’ve been catching up on laundry, decluttering, and finding places for some of the things we got from my grandma. The best part is, it’s almost 60 degrees out, so we’ve got a bunch of windows open, too! Val very much appreciates the new porch windows.
