Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! Here are the scratches for the week.
I’m pretty sure all of my photos for 2020 are going to involve me holding a book. I swung by the library twice this week (I think I’ve been to the library 10 times in 2020 already…) and during my second visit, they had a display of Blind Date with a Book options! They wrapped up a bunch of books that you could check out, and the only thing you knew about it was the first line, which they printed on the front. How fun! I’ve seen similar things at book stores, but it felt like too much of a risk to put money on. The library, though… that’s free!
Speaking of, impulse purchases are also free at the library! I during my first trip, I went to pick up a book and a DVD that I had on hold… and left with two books and two movies. Whoops. I saw Gmorning, Gnight! by Lin-Manual Miranda and instantly grabbed it, and then added the movie Yesterday at the last minute, which I’ve wanted to see for a while.
Yesterday had a short check-out period, so I watched it right away. I really liked it! Highly recommend. Now I’m listening to the Beatles on repeat and I don’t feel bad about it.
The other movie I got was Green Book. I know it’s problematic, but there’s a documentary screening and discussion at the local art museum that the movie to a compares a Smithsonian documentary, so I wanted to see it before the event. Now I’m excited to hear from the speakers!
In ceramics class, we were supposed to do a raku firing, but the instructor couldn’t get the kiln hot enough, so it didn’t work out. They’re going to do it in the next class, which I of course can’t attend. Womp. Luckily we’re doing the same firing during the Valentine’s ceramics class Sean and I signed up for, so I’m not entirely missing out on the experience!
This weekend I’ve pretty much just spent preparing for my trip to St. Louis, which begins tomorrow. I had to go through all of my professional clothes, most of which I haven’t worn in a long time. I was feeling pretty down about it at first, but I ended up with a ton of outfit ideas, so I’m feeling much better.
I also did some shopping before the trip, which is always fun! I got this shirt in both pink and green and fully expect to live in them. I also got these heels, these heels, and these loafers in leopard. Really excited about all of them!
