Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! Here are the scratches for the week.
It was a rollercoaster of a week! Lots of good things followed by bad or anxiety-inducing things. But we made it through, and that’s what’s important!
After receiving my Passion Planner Dailies in the mail last weekend, I’ve loved using them (almost) every day! When they were originally announced, I didn’t see them fitting into my daily life, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. Stay tuned for how I use it in conjunction with my regular Passion Planner!
I did something super nerve-wracking this week—painting a light fixture! We order lights for our bathroom and entryway, and while they were the right shape, they didn’t make them in the right color. We’re slowly converting all of our fixtures to oil-rubbed bronze or black, and the fixtures were only available in chrome and brass. I did some research and decided to paint the chrome fixtures with bronze spray paint, and it worked perfectly! Excuse me while I paint the rest of the fixtures in my house now.
On Thursday I traveled to Toledo for work (so much work travel lately!). It was really nice to see everyone again. It can get really difficult working from home, so it’s nice to get some face-to-face work time every once in a while.
Luckily the trip to Toledo didn’t involve an overnight, but a lot of my work travel does (including my trip to Dayton last week!). All of my recent hotel stays have me excited about this new trend.
This weekend has been all about cleaning! I’ve let my anxiety get the best of me this week, which means the laundry, dishes, and general clutter have piled up around me… which in turn makes me more anxious. Self-care seems to imply face masks and Netflix, and while those are great, cleaning is a great form of self-care for me! Goodbye, anxiety.
Speaking of self-care, this comic is basically my life right now.
Also, this. Which is why it’s been harder for me to blog lately.
I also hit up the grocery store and realized as soon as I got there that I left my phone at home. Normally that would make me spiral into a panic attack (especially because my shopping list is on my phone) but I decided to be positive instead. Yes, I forgot a few things on my list, but I also had a really nice conversation with the butcher and got some NY strip steaks for more than 50% off, so I consider it a win!
I also made another batch of these chocolate chip cookies yesterday. I seriously can’t get enough.
And if you needed another excuse to keep baking this winter, it helps your house stay warm.
