Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! We’re still recovering a bit from our short trip to LA, but we’ll get through it! Here are the scratches from the week.
The Week in Review
As you probably know, the final season of Game of Thrones comes out tonight (!!). I’m currently rereading the book series (it’s on my 101 in 1001 list!), and I was feeling really pressured to finish the fifth book before the final season comes out, so I don’t get hella confused. Well, I got a bit behind and then started prioritizing reading over everything else in my life, and I realized I wasn’t enjoying reading the books any more, and I was just doing it to get to the end by the 14th. Well, I decided that that’s stupid, and I’ve slowed down. I might get a little confused, but that’s okay! I’m excited for both, and I’m not feeling drained because all I have time for is reading.
It’s officially grilling season! Even though part of Michigan is supposed to get snow today. Sean and I swung by our grocery store on Monday and got some brats that are made with Founders beer (yes please) and have been grilling those up throughout the week. Yum!
I’ve been in spring cleaning mode lately, but I haven’t had a ton of energy to do the cleaning itself, so I’ve been prepping myself by making some Amazon purchases. I got this carpet cleaner, this handheld vacuum, and this duster, and I’m ready to throw the windows open and start cleaning!
I also got this for our upstairs bathroom a few weeks ago, and it’s a game changer so I ordered another one for our downstairs bathroom. It will arrive this week!
On Friday, Sean and I went to Grand Rapids for the final Griffins home game of the regular season with my godfather and my dad. It was… disappointing. We lost real bad, continuing the streak of 7 losses in a row.
After the game, we went to Grand Rapids Brewing Company, right around the corner from the arena. It was really fun! In the past we’ve gone to events there, so it’s been a different vibe, and we had a lot of fun just sitting at the bar drinking some beers and eating dank fries. They also had a trans flag hanging up in the front window, so I was all the more happy to spend money there.
Yesterday we got up early and drove back from GR to swing by a fireplace company. We’re making progress on our bedroom fireplace! We have a pretty good idea of what we want to do now, and we’re going to use our tax return to cover a good portion of it, so now we just need to finalize everything.
Then yesterday afternoon my parents were in the area so I joined them for a drink at Liquid Note over in Otsego. The beer was good, and we ordered a pizza with mac-n-cheese on it… but I didn’t expect it to be Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. Ha!
Around the Web
I read this cocktail recipe on A Beautiful Mess and then instantly walked over to our bar and made it. So good! A little tart, but we have some ideas for how we can make it more our own the next time around.
This post has been out for a few weeks now, but I absolutely loved it.
Anyone else as obsessed with personality tests as I am?
Speaking of, I took this Game of Thrones house sorting quiz, and ended up with Lannister the first time, followed by Arryn the second time. No and no. Tyrell or Martell, please and thank you.
