Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! It’s been a shitty week for most people in the United States, so here’s to a (hopefully) better one!
The Week in Review
Sean and I saw A Simple Favor on Tuesday, and…. I’m still not sure how I felt about it. That movie was weird.
I finished up Couch to 5k this week! I’m working on Couch to 10k (which is part of my 101 in 1001 list), and on Friday I completed the first portion of it. Woo!
I’ve also been finishing up my September Goals because today is the last day of the month! So crazy. I’m excited to get cracking at my October Goals. Stay tuned for those tomorrow!
I finally got the pink room taped yesterday! I’m hoping to paint it this week so next week we can move our bedroom furniture in there! 🙌
Around the Web
I listened to part of Kavanaugh’s hearing on Thursday (I unfortunately didn’t get to hear any of Dr. Ford’s), and it was such a shit show. I really appreciated this article from Girl Scouts: Sexual assault is a big deal. Especially in high school.
I’m all for Scandinavian design, and this overview from Apartment Therapy was so interesting! Poor Finland.
This was also a really fascinating look at why we’re so obsessed with Scandinavian design right now.
I also really wish there was an English word for Kalsarikannit. New favorite word.
Ryan Reaves of the Vegas Golden Knights imitated the goal siren noise during a Knights practice and it’s hysterical. I had to watch it twice to realize it was him.
And speaking of hockey, the Philadelphia Flyers got a new mascot, and it’s horrifying.
I’m SO GLAD the Blog Market is back, and I loved Angela’s take on micro-blogging vs. regular blogging. Gives you a lot to think about!
I really appreciated this article from the Simple Dollar about why it’s okay to value things over experiences. As an introvert and a homebody, it really struck a cord with me!
I always love reading Amber’s posts, and this one about being a plus-sized blogger was really moving.
Similarly, this was an interesting insight from Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere about the responsibility of influencers was really interesting.
I’ve had my nail polish on for far too long, so I need to take Randi’s advice on how to get manicures to last a week!
