Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! Here are the scratches from this past week.
The Week in Review
This was thankfully a pretty productive week! I found a doctor and a dentist in Kalamazoo and set up appointments at each. This has been looming because I wasn’t sure how my insurance would work in Michigan, but it seems to be working out well!
Sean and I finally saw Avengers: Infinity War on Tuesday when it came out on Amazon, and I feel a lot of feelings about it. We followed that up by seeing Ant-Man and the Wasp in theatres last night. So good!
While we were at the theatre, I learned about AMC’s Stubs A-List program, where you pay $20 per month per person and get to see up to 3 movies per week. Has anyone participated in this? I’m super intrigued by it. I used to work in a movie theatre so I love seeing movies in theatres. It’s more expensive than MoviePass but seems a lot more stable because it’s from the theatre directly.
On Thursday, I drove to Dayton, Ohio for work. It was great seeing a lot of my coworkers in person after moving to Michigan two months ago! We had a Marketing and Communications retreat on Thursday, discussing everything we want to accomplish in the next year, and had an energizing all-staff meeting on Friday.
I’ve also been doing quite a bit of reading, which I’m really happy about! Last week I finished Code Name Verity, which I wasn’t super into at first, but once I got halfway I powered through it until it was done. I then tried to get the sequel, Rose Under Fire, as an ebook from my library so I could read it right away, but it wasn’t available. I requested the book version and picked it up yesterday! I’m really excited to get into it.
While I was waiting for Rose Under Fire, I read Mennonite in a Little Black Dress. I picked it up from a used book sale because it’s a really intriguing title, but… it was just okay. I cranked it out pretty fast, but I didn’t love it, and probably wouldn’t recommend it.
And finally, today is Val’s birthday! She’s 5 today, and it’s the first time we’ve actually remembered her birthday. Sorry, kitten. We went to Costco yesterday and got a big thing of wet cat food, so she’ll get pretty spoiled today.
The Links
With all of my travel, I’ve been a bit behind on my Bloglovin feed, but here’s what I found interesting this week!
This was really eye-opening. A 5-minute habit that changes your career.
I’m constantly looking for ways to reduce waste, so this list was really helpful.
