Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! Here are the scratches for the week.
This past week was…. not good. I feel like I say that a lot, and I’m trying to be more optimistic, but seriously, this week was shit.
Monday wasn’t terrible, but Tuesday was spent cramming 7 major projects into about 2 hours of work between meetings, prepping for summer resident camp registration to open on Wednesday. I amazingly got everything done, including scheduling a marketing email and social media posts for 6:30 the following morning announcing that resident camp registration was open.
I woke up to my alarm at 6 the next morning (an hour earlier than normal), which is when registration opened, to make sure everything was going smoothly and I wouldn’t need to cancel the email and social posts, and, well… it did not go smoothly.
I’ll spare most of the details, but let’s just say I worked 30 hours from Wednesday to Friday and got hardly anything on my to do list for the week accomplished. 😓 I was very happy for the weekend to arrive.
Despite all of that, I did finish two books this week! I finished The Dating Plan from my January Book of the Month box on Tuesday and loved it. Highly highly highly recommend it. I also took a brain break after work on Wednesday by reading another Dear America book: Cannons at Dawn. Making slow but steady progress on my 101 in 1001 list!
Yesterday I had high hopes for cleaning up the house, but my body and brain weren’t recovered from the workweek yet. I got some laundry done, cleared out the laundry room for the cabinets we’re picking up next week (!!), and picked up some ramen for lunch. Not a terrible way to spend Saturday!
Here’s hoping the week ahead is less chaotic.
