Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! Let’s dive in.
News from This Week:
July 12 was Malala’s 18th birthday! I’m reading her book right now so it was really fun seeing how she celebrated her 18th.
I listened to this Stuff Mom Never Told You podcast one morning before work, and I loved it. They talk about whether or not kids need a mother and a father when growing up.
Cara Delevingne (aka my #girlcrush) shut down everyone who said her bisexuality is just a phase. Breaking: It’s not.
Friday was Eid al-Fitr, which is the end of Ramadan. Eid Mubarak to all of my Muslim readers!
JK Rowling is wonderful. As always.
So are Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart.
And my week?
Kickball started again on Wednesday. We lost (again) but it was still super fun! We’ve met a ton of new people because our team was combined with another one, and they’re super great.
Sean’s family is in town this weekend, so we spent Thursday night cleaning. Friday we attempted to go to the West Michigan Whitecaps game, but we got too overheated so we got ice cream and hung out at our apartment.
Yesterday was super busy. We went to Wolfgang’s for breakfast, then headed to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum while it absolutely poured outside. Stopped by Founder’s for lunch, and headed to Frederik Meijer Gardens in the afternoon once the sun came out. Super pretty, but holy hot and humid! We then joined my mom for dinner and hung out at her house for the evening sharing embarrassing stories from our childhoods.
