With fall closing in on us, it’s time for some cold, rainy days. While I love me some sunshine, I also love being able to stay inside on a rainy day and either relax or be super productive.
Here are some of my absolute favorite rainy day activities.
Curling up with a good book is one of my favorite things to do on a rainy day. There’s nothing better than getting cozy under a soft blanket, making yourself a coffee or hot chocolate, and getting lost in a good book.
Binging on Netflix and Hulu
Did you know that Sabrina the Teenage Witch is on Hulu?! I just discovered this and instantly signed up for my free trial. There are plenty of good shows I want to see on Netflix, so it seems silly to pay for both, but come on. It’s Sabrina.
Yeah, yeah, this one is boring. But oh well. I really enjoy being super productive, and a rainy day is an awesome time to get some of those nagging chores done. Laundry is one of my big chores in our house, so finishing it makes me feel really productive.
I, like a lot of people, find the sound of rain really calming and inspiring. Have you noticed how many of those rain-sound-generator type websites there are out there? (Rainy Mood is my favorite.) Rainy days are the best for working on my blog, especially on new posts.
Remember how I said laundry is one of my big chores? Well, cooking is Sean’s. But every once in a while I like to help him out and make some stuff of my own. And by “of my own” I mean “recipes I find on my favorite blogs.” My two favorites right now? Angela’s breakfast burritos and A Beautiful Mess’s creamy garlic mac-n-cheese.
Nostalgia is running rampant, so adult coloring books are big right now. And I won’t lie, I took the bait. It’s so calming!
Going to the Museum
Sure, going out means you have to go outside in the rain for a little bit. But it’s worth it for all of the cool stuff you get to see and learn! The only bummer about this one: everyone else has the same idea. It’s way more crowded than my apartment.
