Welcome to my newly rebranded blog! In honor of the new name, I’ve decided to share one of my favorite dinosaur DIYs.
Have you been to Darby Smart before? If not, stop what you’re doing and go there. It’s DIY heaven.
One of the first items I got was the Critter Ring Dish. I loved the look and really needed a new ring holder. When I received it in the mail, though, I noticed the four dinosaur figurines I got were all different, and I really wanted two that matched on each one. I ordered some Vinyl Mini Dinosaurs from Amazon. I got 72 figurines for less than $9! I’ll definitely be using the rest of them later.
The first step was painting the dinosaurs with a metallic pen. Be warned: the ink will get all over your fingertips. It’s best to have a paper towel on the table so you don’t ruin it.
I then sprayed it with a clear sealer to make sure the metallic paint didn’t wear off. The last step is using some super glue to put the dinos on the dishes!
Easy peasy! I’m really happy with them.

HOLY DINOS THIS IS AMAZING!!!! All my rings are cluttered up in the dish at the bottom of my earring tree but I’m headed to the craft store tonight and will have to find something to make a couple of these. My nickname with one group of friends is “Rex” so it seems only fitting.
PERFECT! You have to get some T. rex’s then. I might also recommend metallic (or really any color) spray paint instead of the metallic markers if the weather is nice enough to do some quick spray painting outside. 🙂
Absolutely. I used up my silver spray paint last summer but new apartment = new DIYs = time for new craft supplies!

I love the idea, honestly, instead of the ring dish, I used some old ash tray gifts to my husband way way before when he was still smoking. This is actually a great gift idea too considering the bulk of dinosaurs we can buy lol!

These look so good! It’s so much fun to have something totally different too! Bigger dinosaurs painted gold would look fab with their tails hanging over a shelf for larger jewellery!
