It’s time to cross another item off of my bucket list: learn to crochet.
Crocheting is one of those things I think I’ve learned about ten times but kept forgetting how to do. Like euchre.
My friend Kelsey is an amazing crocheter, so I asked her for some help. She sent me some tutorials, and I stuck with it. Look at the cute little monster I was able to make right after learning to crochet!

I wanted to share the links I used. They were super helpful, so I didn’t want to keep them to myself!
- For the basics: Crochet Spot
- For a magic circle: PlanetJune and ChemKnits
- For the adorable little monsters: CRAFTYisCOOL
That’s it! Four links. It’s been about two weeks since I started learning and I’m really happy with the progress I’ve made. And the best part? With the exception of the supplies, learning to crochet was free!
This is part of an ongoing program I’ve created for myself called Well-Educated Wednesdays. There are a lot of things I want to learn, so every Wednesday I’m spending at least an hour (more if there isn’t a hockey game on that night) learning something new each Wednesday.
Depending on what else I learn on Wednesdays, you might see more posts about Well-Educated Wednesdays!
Do you have any simple crochet patterns for me to try out? Or any recommendations for my Well-Educated Wednesdays? Let me know!
