25 Ways to Spend a Day Off

25 Ways to Spend a Day Off

Hello and Happy Memorial Day! It’s a federal holiday in the United States, which means most of us get the day off!

Sean and I are spending the day being super productive. At least, that’s the plan. We barely get any time to just hang out or work on our own projects, because we’re either working, entertaining the puppy, or visiting family. It’s nice that we were able to visit with family for the first half of the weekend and still have personal time before going back to work.

So, what are the best ways to spend a day off, whether it’s on Memorial Day or any other day? Here are my favorite ideas.

  1. Sleep in.
  2. Read a book.
  3. Catch up on laundry.
  4. Declutter.
  5. Write a blog post.
  6. Take a bubble bath.
  7. Catch up on Netflix shows.
  8. Go to the beach.
  9. Meal plan.
  10. Write someone a letter.
  11. Take an online class.
  12. Redecorate your bedroom, living room, etc.
  13. Go shopping.
  14. Go on a long walk.
  15. Work out.
  16. Have friends over.
  17. Barbeque.
  18. Get ahead on chores.
  19. Make a craft you’ve pinned on Pinterest.
  20. Go on a road trip.
  21. Refresh your blog.
  22. Take lots of photos.
  23. Watch a movie.
  24. Listen to a podcast.
  25. Do nothing.

What do you love doing on your days off?

Usually on my days off I read. I have a lot of books in my review pile but sometimes I get crazy and pull a dirty romance novel off my shelf and spend far too much time reading those. 🙂

I came here to say 1-25. Sleep. But I see that you’ve already got that covered. Good call on the Pinterest suggestion! I always get so bored and never think to check Pinterest for ideas. Duh.

I may or may not have slept in AND taken a nap today. Days off are awesome.

I would do so many more of these if I didn’t have kids…hee hee. But, luckily, my husband often lets me sleep in on the weekends, so that rocks. I do love to read, shop, watch TV, etc. Today, I even got a yoga DVD in, plus a blog post. 🙂

Hah! That’s fair. You sound like you had a super productive day today, though, which is awesome! Congrats! 🙂

My favorite is shopping (online)! 🙂 but all of these are ideal. Wish I could do them all in one day!

That’s one of my favorites, too, unfortunately 😉

These are all great suggestions. I just spend all my time working on my blog. I just want to get press trips one day!! I hear it’ll probably only take me another few thousand followers or 2 years. So the news makes me spend time in bed watching tv, snacking, and self loathing. All while avoiding the laundry because I cannot tell you why but I HATE doing laundry.

Press trips would be AWESOME! Good luck!

So I guess that’s my personality now.
