It’s my favorite time of the year: new years! I love my planner and I love goal setting, so this time of year is always really exciting for me.

Six Years Later: How I’m Using the Stylebook App

August 13, 2020

More than six years ago, as I was still adjusting to life after college, I downloaded an app to help me organize my closet. Well, I downloaded two apps, compared them in a massive blog post, and chose one to use moving forward: Stylebook.

To be honest, I’m not sure I expected to still be using the app six years later. But I am. In fact, it’s pinned to the bottom of my iPhone so I have easy access to it, no matter which screen I’m on.

Now that I’ve got six years of use under my belt (and more than 1,100 days of continuous calendar recording!), I thought it would be helpful to provide an update on the original post about what features I’m still using every single day.

How to Use a Planner in the Midst of a Pandemic

May 26, 2020

I keep seeing memes about how the worst purchase of 2019 was a 2020 planner. And I get it. This year has hit the fan and it’s pretty much impossible to plan two days ahead, let alone weeks or months out.

But… that doesn’t mean your planner is worthless. In fact, my Passion Planner has been one of the things keeping me sane throughout this pandemic.

How I’m Tracking Entertainment in My Passion Planner

April 10, 2020

There’s a lot of talk going around about how to ~*~be productive~*~ during quarantine. And while that’s well and good, plenty of us (myself included) are struggling to just be. Let alone be productive.

That being said, I get such a confidence boost when I feel productive, even if it’s all in my head. That’s why I use my Passion Planner to track my entertainment… whether we’re in quarantine or not.

Because every time I get to cross off an episode or season of the TV show I’m binging or the next milestone in the podcast I’m working my way through, I get a little boost. And who doesn’t need an extra boost right now?

Using CoSchedule to Manage Your Workload

As a blogger, I’ve got a lot of tasks to juggle. In the past few months, I’ve started creating more content, and while I love every second of it, it creates a plethora of tasks to juggle.

And since this isn’t my full-time job (to be honest, it’s not even a side hustle any more), I’m trying to balance all of those tasks with my actual job, social life, and hobbies.

That’s when I realized a key tool in my CoSchedule editorial calendar that I was under-utilizing in the past: events.

My Favorite Home Organization Purchases

I’m always looking for more ways to get organized. My Passion Planners are always within an arm’s reach, my Notes app is full of things I need to reference, and I organize my books by color (don’t @ me).

Now that I own a house, I’m blessed to not have to deal with the small-space storage woes many people my age struggle with. But ample storage space doesn’t mean everything is automatically organized; especially for an over-buyer like me.

We have a pretty lean budget in our family (but our student loans will be gone before we turn 30!), so any organization purchases we make have to be worth it. And all of these purchases fit the bill.

Plan With Me: How I’m Using the Passion Planner and Passion Planner Daily Together

December 27, 2019

When Passion Planner announced the Passion Planner Daily this fall, I wasn’t super into it. I wanted to be into it, because it’s a Passion Planner product, but I didn’t see how it would fit into my life. I had already bought a 2020 Passion Planner, so I’d need to use them together, and I already have a to do list going in the Notes app on my phone. Did I really need a second planner?

But then I printed out the sample pages to test them out… and fell in love with them. A few days later, I ended up ordering my set of four Passion Planner Dailies (I went with Tranquil Tones!) on Kickstarter and began testing out how I would use them in conjunction with my regular Passion Planner.

I have the feeling this will evolve over the next year, but I wanted to share my current set up in case it inspires anyone else currently struggling to balance the two!

Plan With Me: A Mid-Year Update

We’re almost halfway through the year, so I thought it would be fun to do a mid-year review of my 2019 Passion Planner!

I did an original post back in January that goes through how I had it set up. I’ve been using it for 5.5 months now, and for the most part everything is the same. But I’ve definitely learned some lessons along the way!

Plan With Me: How I Set Up My 2019 Passion Planner

As much as I love digital tools for keeping myself organized, I’m a sucker for paper planners. And for the fourth year in a row, I’m using the Passion Planner!

I first started using it in 2016 when my friend Angela recommended I try it out. I had been using a cheap planner from Staples up until then, and I’ve been a loyal member of the #pashfam ever since!

35 Things You Can Accomplish in 5 Minutes or Less

Do you ever have those days when you feel really unproductive? Everything you have to do seems uninspiring and / or like it will take forever?

Pretty much every Monday is like that for me. But I’ve found that doing a few quick tasks makes me feel really productive, and like I can easily tackle anything sent my way.

So I’ve put together a list of 35 things you can accomplish in 5 minutes or less. Who’s ready to feel productive?

The time has finally come for me to upgrade the accessory I always have with me: my iPhone.

I had my iPhone 4S for a solid two and a half years, and while it was a good little phone, I was in dire need of an upgrade.

My Zagg Invisible Shield was a hot mess (mostly because I didn’t clean it enough… whoops), and there was some screen bleed appearing in one of the corners. Not good.

So I bit the bullet and got myself an iPhone 6!

There was no way I was going to get the iPhone 6 Plus. They don’t make women’s pockets big enough.

To celebrate, I’m sharing the 12 iOS apps I always use (social media sites not included). And yes, some of them did drastically improve thanks to the major screen size increase.

All of the headings and photos below link directly to the iTunes Store if you’re interested in downloading any of them.

There’s an App for That: Stylebook v. Closet+

There's an App for That: Stylebook vs. Closet+

This post contains affiliate links that I could make commission off of. All opinions are my own. Learn more.

Note (July 7, 2014): After discovering more features of Stylebook, the review has been updated at the bottom.

A while back I downloaded an iPhone app to help keep my closet organized and, most importantly, make sure I’m getting my money’s worth out of my clothes. I cataloged a good portion of my closet, but then got frustrated and lost interest, so I deleted it. When Randi did a review of a similar app, I decided to try again and decide which one is the best for me.

I present to you: Stylebook v. Closet+.

This is going to be a pretty long post, so bare with me, but I want to give you as much information as possible. I’ll break it down into sections and compare and contrast the apps within each section. I’ll include the app that I think wins each section as well. Keep in mind, though, that different features are important to different people, so the one that worked best for me might not be the one that works best for you!
