Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! I can’t believe this is Sunday Scratches #50! How exciting! Here are the scratches from the week.
The Week in Review
Monday was And Possibly Dinosaurs’ 5th birthday! I didn’t do too much to celebrate, but Sean brought home tacos and we cracked open the bottle of champagne that was left over from New Year’s Eve. I’d say it was a great way to celebrate!
I also set up a new page on the blog where you can shop my favorites! Anything from my favorite rain coat to the shampoo I use to dye my hair pink are all listed there.
We tried out a new-to-us local restaurant this week called Paradise Cafe. I found them on Instagram thanks to a local hashtag I follow (proof that hashtags help grow your audience!) and I’ve been meaning to try them out. They primarily serve crepes, so we each got one—I had a Nutella crepe and Sean had a Kinder crepe. I personally preferred mine because the Kinder flavor was a bit too sweet, but they were both awesome!
We’ve been doing a lot of Netflix watching because of the cold weather. This week we watched Solo: A Star Wars Story, an episode of Dirty Money, and I started binge-watching Grace & Frankie when the new season came out on Friday!
In not-so-fun news, on Friday I fell down half a flight of stairs in our house and landed right on my tailbone. I used sick time for the last two hours of my work week because it hurt that badly. I literally couldn’t sit in my desk chair. Plus we had to cancel our plans for a brewery bus tour of Kalamazoo yesterday because I didn’t want to sit on a bumpy bus with a bruised tailbone. Womp. I’m hoping that a weekend inside relaxing will help it heal faster.
Luckily, I have tomorrow off of work thanks to MLK Day! One extra day to heal will be very welcome before I sit my butt in a desk chair for 8 hours on Tuesday.
Around the Web
Speaking of MLK Day, I don’t understand how people can be so openly racist.
I am so so so excited that The Full Tummy is back! And I had such a blast redesigning her blog with a theme from Coded Creative.
I love this idea. I need outer accountability, so asking how I can help my future self is an excellent way to motivate me.
The new year typically brings a bunch of stress, so here’s how to overcome it.
I’m a big supporter of my local library (seriously, it has so many amazing resources available for free). Did you know a lot of local libraries have streaming available to members for no cost? It’s through a service called Kanopy—check if your local library is part of it!
