Sunday Scratches is where I share the little stuff that has happened throughout the week. In hockey, “scratches” are people who are on the roster but do not play in the game. On the blog, “scratches” are the things that have happened to me throughout the week that aren’t necessarily big enough to be an entire post.

Happy Sunday! Here are the scratches from the week.
The Week in Review
We’ve slowly been continuing work around the house. Last weekend, Sean started taking the plaster off the brick chimney in one of the bedrooms, only to discover… it’s actually a fireplace! He chipped away at it (literally) every day this past week and got most of the major chunks off by Friday. There are still a bunch of little pieces of plaster that have to be removed, then we’ll call in a chimney service to check it out and get it up to code. Exciting!
On Monday, a new printer was delivered for our home office! I had fixed up our hold printer, but it still wasn’t printing black ink (even though we tried several brand new black ink cartridges), which meant I had no way to print anything black. When work found out, they offered to buy me a new printer, because there may be times I need to print something off from my home office. It’s waaaaay bigger than my old one, but it actually works, so I’m really excited about it! I re-crossed that off my 101 in 1001 list.
I rescued a dog on Tuesday! That makes it sound a lot more exciting than it was. I was out for my morning run and a big, curly-haired dog (it looked to me like a golden doodle but I could be wrong) ran down the street and said hi. There were no identifier tags, so I brought it home so I could grab Stanley’s leash, and a neighbor helped me identify where it was from. I didn’t finish my run, but I’d say it was worth it.
On Friday, I started #summer10x10, which is a clothing challenge I’ve wanted to do for a while. You pick 10 articles of clothing, and over 10 days, you only wear those 10 pieces of clothing and create 10 distinct outfits. Today is day 3, and I’m liking it a lot! I’ve decided not to do the social part of it, because I’m not a fashion blogger and having someone take photos of me to show off my outfit feels awkward. I appreciate that other people can do it, but it’s just not me. Hoping to cross this one off my 101 in 1001 list next Sunday!
My dad’s birthday was Thursday, so on Friday my parents and godfather came down to Kalamazoo and we went to Arcadia Ales. The service wasn’t great that night, unfortunately, but the company was!
Yesterday I spent some time in the morning reading my book, Code Name Verity. The goal was to read 30 pages–if I did that every day, I’d finish it by the end of next week. I ended up sitting down and finishing the whole thing yesterday! At first I really had to push myself to read it (I almost gave up on it a few times), but once I got about halfway through, I couldn’t put it down! Now I’m trying to decide if I’m going to put my copy into a Little Free Library or if I’m going to hold onto it…
Oh, and I finally finished the And Possibly Dinosaurs rebrand! I republished all of my old posts with updated header images and finally went through my social media profiles and got them rebranded. Cross that one off my 101 in 1001 list!

I’m so happy with mine and Sean’s house, but if I could, I’d move into this house in a second. It’s in Auckland, it’s full of plants… dream house.
Here are 7 things to do today for a better Monday.
I did this on Thursday and it made such a difference.
This is SUCH an interesting perspective on email lists.
Anyone up for a trip to Lowe’s?
I love this idea. I might have to try it this week.
Yes, girl. You do you.
Another excuse to use emojis? Yes please. 🙌
Since I work from home and never see anyone besides my husband and my pets, I might need to start attending networking events. This is a really helpful guide.
I’m a really big fan of the Four Tendencies. Which one are you? I’m an Obliger!
This was really eye-opening for me.
