Staying productive in the summer can be incredibly difficult.
I’m surrounded by temptations. Living in Michigan during the summer months makes the rest of the year worth it. The weather is perfect for the beach, going out with friends, reading in the sun, and going to the pool. The problem is, they all seem to try to pull me away from work, blogging, and leading I Am That Girl: Grand Rapids.
So, how do I keep the temptations at bay?
It’s taken me a few tries to create a productivity chart that best serves all of my obligations. I tried having multiple to do lists, but they got overwhelming and some of them ended up getting lost. I tried iPhone apps, but none of them seemed to work and I always forgot to update them. However, I think I’ve finally nailed it. And the best part? I’m letting you download it for free!

I’ve combined everything into one sheet, clearly marked at the top with the day of the week and date. That way, I can prioritize things that need to get done that day, but still hold onto them and keep them organized by date if I need to go back to something.
I made separate charts for things that I have to do, want to do, and should remember to do. And, so that I always remember appointments, there’s a spot on there for a miniature agenda.
I hope this helps you as much as it helps me! Is there anything that would be helpful on the chart that I’ve forgotten? How do you stay organized?
I love this! Awhile back, I started dividing my to do lists into “want list” and “need list” and being really intentional about calling something an actual need. It helped me prioritize and learn that it’s okay not to do ALL THE THINGS.
Thank you! I totally agree. Sometimes it’s okay go a few days without milk and bread if it means you get to spend some time relaxing and reading your favorite book. 🙂
